PIOGLITZAONE Diabetic Drug is an insulin resistance reducer used alone or with other medicines to treat type 2 diabetes. PIOGLITZAONE may be taken on an empty stomach or with food. PIOGLITZAONE is a clinically proven, once-a-day prescription medicine available to lower blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes. PIOGLITZAONE works by helping the body use its naturally produced insulin to burn sugar as a fuel and reduce the harmful buildup of sugar in your blood. Generally, the body will break down (digest) food into products it can absorb and use. One of those products is glucose, or sugar, the main source of energy for the body. Insulin is produced by the pancreas and is needed to let sugar into the body's cells so it can be processed into energy. For persons with type 2 diabetes, the body is able to produce some insulin, but not enough. In addition, the cells have become resistant to the effects of insulin, which means that the body can't respond to the insulin. This condition is called insulin resistance. When tissue, such as muscle, becomes insulin resistant, the body loses its ability to utilize sugar effectively. In an attempt to use the sugar, the body responds by telling the pancreas to produce extra insulin (a condition known as hyperinsulinemia). The extra insulin tries to unlock the cells and force them to take the sugar from the bloodstream. The liver also becomes insulin resistant and responds by overproducing sugar. This contributes to high blood sugar (known as hyperglycemia). Eventually, the pancreas can no longer produce enough insulin to compensate for insulin resistance. As a result, sugar levels rise in the blood. PIOGLITZAONE effectively reduces insulin resistance, fasting insulin levels, and blood sugar. PIOGLITZAONE works by helping the body use its naturally produced insulin, or administered insulin in type 2 diabetes, to help use sugar as a fuel and reduce the harmful buildup of sugar.

Actos Side Effects:

Diabetic Drug PIOGLITZAONE side effects that may occur while taking this medicine is sore throat. If PIOGLITZAONE side effects continues or is bothersome, check with your doctor. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience the following PIOGLITZAONE side effects: bloating or swelling of ankles, feet, or hands; chest pain; rapid weight gain; shortness of breath; fatigue; unexplained nausea or vomiting; stomach pain; loss of appetite; unusual thirst; unusual amount of urine; dark urine; or yellowing of the skin or eyes. DO NOT STOP USING PIOGLITZAONE or other diabetes medicine without first checking with your doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR before adjusting the dose of your diabetes medicine or changing your diet. IF YOU ARE TAKING PIOGLITZAONE WITH OTHER DIABETES MEDICINE, you are at an increased risk of becoming hypoglycemic (low blood sugar). Signs of hypoglycemia include an increased heartbeat, headache, sweating, tremor, increased hunger, changes in vision, nervousness, or tiredness. Discuss with your doctor or nurse how to handle hypoglycemic reactions.
